Just for Fun

Jenney and Leila each posted this on their blog and I thought I would play along too...

1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Both. I attempt to use only wrapping paper for kiddos, though.
2. Real tree or Artificial? Again, both. We have an artificial tree in the Dining Room and put a real tree in the Living Room. I am not sure I will get around to the Porch Tree this year (again, artificial). I LOVE the way a real tree smells, but the needles are kind of a pain:/
3. When do you put up the tree? Some years before Thanksgiving and other years shortly after Thanksgiving...it depends.
4. When do you take the tree down? Again, it depends. Garrett's b-day is the 29th...if we are having the party at home I try to get at least one tree down (for more room).
5. Do you like eggnog? No, but I will tolerate it when served with rum as well;)
6. Favorite gift received as a child? I cannot recall one "extraordinary" gift, but we always had a wonderful Christmas. As a child I always loved opening my stocking gifts first. Now, as a parent I love stuffing stockings (and we the kiddos open them first per mommy LOL).
7. Hardest person to buy for? In the past I would say Grandma Mary, but I have finally discovered a gift she likes...a calender with pictures of our kiddos:)
8. Easiest person to buy for? Parker. He is quick to point out what he wants (which is everything).
9. Do you have a nativity scene? No, I would like to get one though.
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail...photo cards of the kiddos.
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Here we go...the Christmas where Eric and I got engaged the following day. Anyways, for Christmas he bought me a space heater, a lock box, and a toilet seat. Seriously, no joke! I was expecting an engagement ring. Needless to say he proposed the following day...that is an entirely different story;)
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Elf
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Typically, after Thanksgiving. I wish I was one those people who bought throughout the year.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? No, but I have returned gifts.
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? I don't think I could pick one thing...I love it all!
16. Lights on the tree? Definitely! I prefer white lights, but w/ the kiddos we do colored (aka "fun") lights on the living tree for them. I have become pretty fond of blue lights as well.
17. Favorite Christmas song? The Little Drummer Boy
18. Travel at Christmas or stay at home? Stay at home, but will travel to nearby families. We are blessed to have most of our family close to us. I like for my kiddos to wake up in their own beds on Christmas, come downstairs in their house, and spend the morning together as our immediate family. Christmas Eve and later in the day on Christmas I am more than willing to attend family gatherings.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer's? Dasher, Dancer, Comet, Vixen, Rudolph, Cupid, Prancer, and Donner...
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? This year both have bows. I mix it up between bows, stars, and angels.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas morning...
22. Most annoying thing about this time of the year? Getting stressed!
23. What theme or color are you using? One tree is decorated in green and gold and our other tree is more "traditional"...red, green, cream, etc. In the past I have done a blue and silver tree, but I don't think it's going up this year.
24. Favorite for Christmas dinner? Turkey or Chicken (I'm not really a ham girl), cheesy potatoes, garlic bubble loaf bread, and tons of other side dishes.
25. What do you want for Christmas this year? A SLR camera...I'm sure my husband (and others) are tired of hearing me talk about it LOL! I could also use some new clothes, scrappy supplies (thankfully, my dear husband told me to order my own...even that went a tad bit disastrous), new cookie sheets, and picture frames. Really, I will be happy with anything:)
