Happy 3rd Birthday, Garrett!!!

Three years ago we welcomed this beautiful little boy into the world...

7lbs13oz 21 3/4 inches long

4 days old...From day one, Garrett has been an exceptional sleeper. He NEVER woke
up more than once a night and was sleeping through the night at 4 months (a
welcomed surprise for us!). He went to sleep so easily...a little bit of cuddling, rocking,
and a blanket draped lightly over his head. At almost 2 years of age he was still
taking two naps a day!!! What a blessing:) Today, Garrett still welcomes nap time. As for bed time...you can ask Parker about that one;)

3 weeks old... With the birth of our second child Eric and I felt like we were "seasoned" parents. At a mere 3 weeks old we had Garrett at Kalahari Water park & Resort. Yes, people thought we were crazy. I firmly believe that mommy wearing a bathing suit 3 weeks post c-section was more absurd. Garrett was a gem during our trip...so peaceful and calm. Today, Garrett continues to love outings...trips to the park, the store, family gatherings, a drive through McD's excites him.

5 months old...From early on Garrett has LOVED food. At 4 months old Garrett cut his
first teeth and they kept coming in quickly! He could chew unlike any other baby
I have ever seen. Today, Garrett still enjoys eating. Breakfast for Garrett is
non-stop from 7:30-11:30 and by noon he is ready for lunch LOL!

7 months old...As a baby I adored Garrett's chubby little cheeks, peach fuzz head, and toothy grin.
Today, those little cheeks are usually a rosy red (from wiping snot across his face).
Today, that little head sports a head full of shaggy golden color hair. Today, that
grin still makes me smile and laugh.

1st birthday...Garrett embraced the phrase "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to!".
He was highly irritated that we were singing to him and uneasy about
his cake. Today, as we sang to Garrett at his 3rd birthday party he threw himself
onto the floor. Garrett enjoys attention, but only on his (welcomed) terms.

1st birthday...Still taking the phrase "It's my birthday and I'll cry if I want to!" to heart.
Today, after opening a few presents and laughter erupted from the crowd (on his
behalf) he ran into my arms and requested to go home. Garrett is...well, Garrett;)

16 months old...Garrett was elated when during his second Spring he could walk.
He explored everything...every blade of grass, every mud puddle, every bug, etc.
He excelled in getting dirty and LOVED every minute of it.
Today, he cringes when his hands are sticky and wants them washed ASAP.

19 months old... Oh, the look of joy on Garrett's face. From early on Garrett has been so animated. He did not speak many words until after his second birthday. However, we always knew what Garrett was thinking/wanted from his facial expressions and eyes. Today, with an ever expanding vocabulary Garrett is still so animated. He speaks with an enthusiasm and energy that is absolutely delightful!

2nd birthday... Again, Garrett became shy when we sang to him. No tears we shed at his 2nd birthday, though. He ate one lone fruit snack off his cake. Today, at his 3rd birthday party he dipped his finger into his cake and licked it one time. No more...no less...

2 1/2 years old... From the beginning Garrett has been a lover of water...bath time, pool time, and time at the beach brings much joy into Garrett's life. Today, Garrett easily requests 3 baths a day;)

A few months shy of 3...
Today, my...Garrett, Baby G, Carrot, Baby Hauss, Little Dude, Little G, and Mr. Dude you are 3!!! Today, you bring so much joy, laughter, tears, hugs, smiles, and exhaustion into our lives. Today, you are a little brother and a big brother. Today, I love you more than words can express. Today, I hope you enjoy your 3rd birthday.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY GARRETT
