Here is my sweet Baby G at 2 years old!
Garrett finally opted for a Shrek Theme Party. In reality he really LOVES "gonkey" (aka the donkey in Shrek). He helped pick out the decorations and here are some of his favorites.
Thank you to my mom for both of the cakes (it is a tradition for her to handle the boy's birthday cakes). She opted for a store bought cake this year after we could not get our hands on a Shrek cake pan. The little cake is made in the same cake pan once used for my brother and I's birthday cakes.
Garrett (and the other kids) had fun opening his presents. He was a lucky little boy and received many nice gifts. It was difficult for Eric and I to decide on gifts with his birthday being so close to Christmas. In the end we gave him some Shrek craft items, added to the Geotrax train collection with Grand Central Station, blocks (one of his favorites), and a bowling set. Other gifts included: LOTS of clothes (he is a very stylish 2 year old!), trucks, a sand and water table, books, and his beloved BIG box of goldfish crackers (thanks to Uncle Jerry for the second year in a row LOL).
We had a pull string pinata for the kids and all of the kids had fun gathering their loot.
I was unsure how he would react when we sang to him. Last year he cried, but this year he smiled some and enjoyed the attention. Garrett favors myself (and family) in looks...you can completely see that in the picture below.
The lone fruit snack he is holding in this picture is ALL he ate of his birthday cake. This is really surprising for Garrett (who normally LOVES to eat). I have come to the conclusion he is not a fan of frosting (seriously!).
What I truly enjoyed about Garrett's party is the way he said goodbye to all of his guests. While Garrett is a very loving little guy he generally saves his affection for those he is around on a constant basis. On the day of his party he was very forthcoming with his love...giving everyone who left a hug (and for the lucky few a big sloppy kiss).

Fun, fun, fun! I can't believe how big he is getting.
Hey, Kelly! What fun for Baby G! It looks like quite a successful 2nd b.day party. Just wanted to stop by & say hello! Congrats on the third boy. Doug was hoping for a third boy so he could have an "infield"...my husband always has sports on the brain! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy! Talk to you soon!
