I LOVE fall and it is my favorite season of the year. With the fall season comes the changing of the leaves, cooler weather, fall jackets (so cute), warm sweaters, football, the Oak Harbor Apple Festival, a trip to the pumpkin patch, and of course Halloween. Since the boys have come along I discovered how much fun choosing Halloween costumes truly is. I have also realized you need to get a jump start on the process as many costumes in stores and online tend to get picked over QUICKLY!
As we approached looking for costumes this year I debated whether we should dress the boys alike again or if coordinating costumes would be the way to go...decisions, decisions! I also had to keep in mind that Parker (now at the age of 3 1/2 years and very head strong) would be more opinionated in the selection process this year.
When first asked Parker insisted he was going to be a dirt bike and Garrett was going to be a 4 wheeler (yes, he speaks for both of them the majority of the time). Please note he did not say a dirt bike rider and a 4 wheeler rider, but rather a dirt bike and a 4 wheeler. We could have handled 2 various riders fairly easy, but two actual "machines"...that would require some work!
Lucky for us Parker changed his mind as of yesterday. Last night we were informed he wanted to dress up as a pirate and Garrett would dress up as a boat. The catch...he would then ride Garrett throughout the course of the evening (see post below). I seriously doubt Garrett would have went for this!
Last night in the car I suggested to Parker that he dress up as a monkey and Garrett go as a lion. I anticipated a debate over my choice, but Parker happily agreed:) SCORE for mommy!
After lunch today I showed the monkey costume to Parker and the lion costume to Garrett online at Old Navy.com. Parker made a monkey noise and Garrett let out a "ROAR"...they are good to go!
I am confident that Parker will have another suggestion for costumes tomorrow...
