Today Is A New Day!
I have BIG news to share...today Eric started his new job! He started today his orientation/training at Davis Besse. I have not wanted to share our exciting news, because the hiring process is lengthy (and brutal). Today is a new day...his new employment brings many changes to our family. He will be in training all summer long with an awesome schedule (Tuesday through Friday). Once he finally begins working he will be on a rotating schedule (12 hour shifts). We are thrilled that he will now have a steady income (no more commission!), awesome health insurance (when he left Scheits Motors health insurance was $600 a month for the family plan-OUCH!), vacation time, etc.
Parker is not thrilled that daddy is no longer working around dirtbikes, 4-wheelers, scooters, etc. He keeps asking what Eric is going to do. How do you explain nuclear power to a 3 year old?!
We hope that everyone had a terrific Memorial Day Weekend. We were on the go all weekend...shopping, Eric had a bachelor party, our neice Kyra's 3rd birthday party (FUN!), and finally a BBQ at Maumee Bay State Park.
The four of us joined my mom, Mark, and grandparents at the park late yesterday afternoon. We had a great time! The boys had fun playing in the pond. I didn't take their swimsuits, because I thought the water would still be chilly. Thankfully I had an extra set of clothes on hand for both of them. Parker got the chance to ride his bike in an "open" area and LOVED it. Garrett is emerging everyday as a comedian...he kept us all laughing with his antics.

Congratulations Eric on the new job! We're happy that things worked out for the better for all 4 of you. Good luck explaining nuclear power! Any suggestions for explaining "chemistry and lasers" to Mikayla? Looking forward to seeing all of you this summer!
